Stream Energy Expands Into Georgia Market

Firm Introduces Successful "Friends and Family" Sales Formula

DALLAS (April 24, 2008) – Stream Energy, one of the fastest growing new retail enterprises in U.S. history, has started enrolling natural gas customers after being approved to provide energy service in Georgia by that state's Public Services Commission.

Stream Energy will be able to provide natural gas to customers in those counties in Georgia that are within the Atlanta Gas & Light service area, including such cities as Atlanta, Savannah, Macon, Athens, Rome, Valdosta, Augusta and Brunswick.

The pending issuance of the marketer certificate for Stream Energy by the Public Service Commission of Georgia completes a yearlong process, resulting in the Texas-based firm‘s addition to the roster of existing participants within Georgia's deregulated natural gas market. Stream Energy has leased space in the Galleria Office Park in Atlanta as the headquarters for its Georgia operations.

"We're very excited about providing natural gas service to the people of Georgia," said Stream Energy co-founder and Chairman Rob Snyder. "Georgia is a terrific market that we believe will respond very positively to our philosophy of one-on-one sales and outstanding customer service."

As one of 17 states that have implemented deregulation of energy services, Georgia is an important first step in Stream Energy's long-range plan to take its successful business and marketing plan to other states. The natural gas industry in Georgia was first deregulated during 1997. Since then, four major retailers have come to dominate the Georgia market for natural gas customers.

Stream Energy's approach to marketing will succeed just as it has in the highly competitive market for electricity customers in Texas. "The Stream Energy story has been an amazing one," said Rob Snyder. "Fortune has smiled on us. But our success also is rooted in copious amounts of hard work by dedicated people. We're bringing that same work ethic to Georgia."

Stream Energy began operations during 2005 after being licensed by the Public Utilities Commission in Texas as a retail electricity provider and has rapidly grown to become one of the major energy companies in the state. Stream Energy signed up approximately 64,000 customers during 2005 and today serves hundreds of thousands of Texas customers.

Through the company's "Friends and Family" approach, the wholly-owned Ignite marketing arm of Stream Energy empowers independent associates similar to those used by Mary Kay and Pampered Chef to sign up customers. Georgia residents will have an opportunity to earn income by becoming independent associates then signing up friends and family members for natural gas service from Stream Energy.

Chris Domhoff, founder of Ignite and co-founder of Stream Energy, said, "We are extremely optimistic that Georgians will respond enthusiastically to the Ignite Opportunity. We have established ourselves as one of the most dynamic direct sales programs available anywhere, and we are very proud of the millions of dollars we have already distributed in sales commissions to our community of Independent Associates. We are excited that the people of Georgia now have the ability to participate."

Ignite scheduled a series of meetings throughout Georgia to explain how residents can become independent sales associates. The educational meeting schedule included Ignite Training Academies in Atlanta, Macon, Savannah and Augusta.
