Brian Berend
Director of Wholesale Power Scheduling, Southern Markets
Brian Berend oversees all load forecasting and scheduling for Stream Energy; on whose behalf he hedges and optimizes for over 325,000 customers. Not only is Brian responsible for forecasting Stream Energy's large retail load, but he also assists with various risk management functions.
Prior to his position at Stream Energy, Brian began his career as a Real-Time Energy Trader with Calpine Energy Services. Brian then continued his tenure with Calpine as the Manager of East Day-Ahead Scheduling and Real-Time Operations. Brian was responsible for all power schedulers for the Eastern Region and also managed the Real-Time operations of Calpine's power generation over the entire Eastern Interconnect.
Brian holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance degree from Texas A&M University.
