Senior Director – Communications

One of the first employees to join Stream Energy in connection with its 2004 founding, Paul Thies today oversees all of the firm’s internal and external communications programs, working in concert with the firm’s Chairman and senior management in regard to messaging initiatives. Paul is also responsible for branding and public relations efforts (including media relations, external corporate communications, social media and oversight of graphic design).

Prior to 2004, Paul served in a variety of communications and marketing roles at Excel Telecommunications, including as Director of Corporate Communications (where his responsibilities included the supervision of global communications and the management of employee, public and media relations efforts). Before Excel, he was employed in the Franchise Communications Department for Pizza Hut, Inc., in which position he supported the company’s franchisees as a liaison on various project teams (including crisis communications and kids’ marketing), and further provided daily communications support through a number of avenues.

Paul has both Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from the University of North Texas. Paul and his wife, the former Angela Claytor, have been married for nearly two decades and have three daughters and a son. While a man of many talents, his family insists that if Paul were to have a television cooking show, such would appear on The Sci-Fi Network.
