How do I enroll with Stream Energy?

Simply visit us online or call us at 1-877-369-8150. Please have your utility account number handy. The process is quick and easy and it usually takes about four minutes to complete a request for service. There are no credit checks and no deposits involved. We look forward to serving you.

Why are you asking for my utility account number to become a customer of Stream Energy?

To become a part of the Stream Energy family you need to have an active utility account at the location you are requesting energy service. Your current utility account number will remain the same no matter which competitive supplier you select. Providing that number to us helps Stream Energy confirm that we will complete your switch in a timely and responsible fashion.

Where do I find my utility account number?

You can find your utility account number on your current energy bill. If you do not have your current energy bill, you can call your local utility company to get this information. They will be happy to provide it to you.

The price to compare is the price per kilowatt hour (kWh) or the price per therm your local utility company will charge for the energy charge portion of your of your bill. Do you offer Budget Billing?

Stream Energy offers Budget Billing in both Texas and Georgia. A customer must establish Budget Billing when they become a Stream Energy customer. If the customer is on Budget Billing with their previous provider they must true-up their account when they switch to Stream Energy. Depending on various factors, including season, this action may cause a credit or debit with the previous provider.

In Pennsylvania where the Utility does the billing, customers will automatically remain on Budget Billing when they switch to Stream Energy. Nothing will change for the customer.

While the Utility also does the billing in DC, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York, Budget Billing does not carry over for the energy charges when a customer switches providers. Distribution charges however will remain on Budget Billing. Like in Texas and Georgia, the customer must true-up their account when they switch to Stream Energy. Stream Energy does not offer Budget Billing at this time in DC, Maryland, New Jersey, or New York but would like to in the near future.

Whatever market a customer is in, they should always contact their current provider to determine how their budget plan will be impacted by switching to a new provider.
