Dear Stream Energy Customers,

You are all aware that we are living through one of the hottest Texas summers in recent memory, with historic amounts of electricity being consumed for home cooling and other purposes. As the ensuing stress on the Texas electricity grid makes a sizeable portion of our society – such as the elderly and the economically challenged – especially vulnerable to the threat of rolling blackouts and other types of outages, your friends at Stream Energy are asking for your help in a special appeal.

Towards decreasing overall grid consumption and ensuring that affordable energy is available for everyone in our community, we ask that our customers take a very simple, yet meaningful, action. Beginning today and for the remainder of August, please raise your thermostat by two degrees from 12:00 noon through 7:00 p.m.

Additionally, we strongly encourage you to review our suggested energy savings tips. Not only will these tips help you decrease your energy bill, more importantly they will help you reduce strain on the Texas energy grid, and thus ensure that everyone has access to affordable power.

Together, we can all make a difference.

Sincerely,
Rob Snyder
Chairman, Stream Energy
